1.1. Overview

PureCM is packaged using the standard Solaris package management system (See the pkgadd, pkginfo and pkgrm commands).

When you download the PureCM Server package for Solaris, you'll have a file with a name like :-

 purecm-server-pkg-9.1e-solaris5.10-sun4u.tgz

You would typically install the package by :-

# mkdir /tmp/purecm

# cd /tmp/purecm

# gunzip -c $HOME/purecm-server-pkg-9.1e-solaris5.10-sun4u.tgz | tar xvf -

# pkgadd -d /tmp/purecm

At this point you'll be prompted to install the 'purecm-server' package.  Typically you should be able to select the correct package and then answer 'yes' to each question.

PureCM Server on Solaris uses the SMF framework for administration of the server.  See the related articles for an overview of this.
